Blocked Drain Clearance

Blocked drains can develop for all sorts of reasons — built-up grease, soap residue, hair, limescale, and general debris being the most common culprits. Left untreated, a slow drain becomes a fully blocked one, and what was a minor inconvenience turns into standing water, unpleasant smells, or worse.

We use drain rods to clear blockages in external drains, soil pipes, and waste lines, working through the blockage methodically to restore flow without causing damage to older pipework. For surface-level drain covers and inspection chambers, we'll also check that the drain is running clear end-to-end before we leave.

Blocked Toilets

A blocked toilet is one of the more stressful plumbing problems to deal with, and it rarely improves on its own. Whether it's a partial blockage causing slow flushing or a full blockage causing overflow, we'll get it sorted.

We use professional-grade plungers to clear the majority of toilet blockages quickly and cleanly. Where the blockage is further into the soil pipe, drain rods can be used to work it through. We'll also check the cistern and flush mechanism while we're there — if there's a secondary issue contributing to the problem, we'll let you know.

How quickly can you attend a blocked drain callout?

We aim to get to you as quickly as possible — for urgent situations like an overflowing toilet or a completely blocked drain, we'll do our best to attend the same day. For less pressing blockages, we'll typically be with you within 24 to 48 hours. Give us a call and we'll let you know our availability straight away.

Do you use high-pressure jetting equipment?

No — we clear blockages using drain rods and professional-grade plungers, which is sufficient for the vast majority of household blockages. If we attend and find the blockage requires jetting, we'll be upfront with you and advise on next steps. We'd rather be honest than waste your time.

What types of blockages can you clear?

How much does a drain clearance callout cost?

Our standard rate is £65 for the first hour and £45 for each subsequent hour. Most straightforward blockages are resolved well within the first hour. For callouts outside regular hours, an emergency rate of £95 applies. We'll always be clear on pricing before we start work — no surprises.

My toilet keeps blocking — is there an underlying problem?

It could be. A one-off blockage is usually just that, but if your toilet is blocking repeatedly, it may point to a partial obstruction further down the soil pipe, or an issue with the flush mechanism not clearing waste effectively. We'll take a look at both while we're with you and let you know what we find.

Can you clear a blocked drain in a rural property with a septic tank?

Yes — we work across South Shropshire, Powys, and Herefordshire, and a large number of properties in this area are off the mains sewer. We're used to working with septic tanks and private drainage systems. If the issue relates to the tank itself rather than the pipework, we'll let you know and advise accordingly.
